Vintage Kustom K-300 PA/Guitar amp 1969 w/ Two Tuck and Roll for sale in Winston Salem, NC
Fully-functional vintage Kustom PA system/ guitar rig. I'm guessing this was made around 1969. This is all high-quality USA-made gear, no Chinese components or cheap electronics. All 6 amp inputs work and all of the controls work. The vintage spring reverb sounds incredible, and the head has a tape output. A single mic on a drum set through this PA with some reverb = perfect 60s/70s funk sound ... incredible. Someone made a YouTube video auditioning this PA. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iXdgGq2N-Y All 6 speakers in each 3-way cabinet work properly, and the PA gets quite loud. The bell in one of the horns looks a little askew, but sounds the same as the other. Head can be used for guitar amp as well. Anti-feedback knobs are basically different EQ curves to suppress common feedback frequencies, but they also give lots of flexibility in shaping the sound. The downside ... this was in my basement for 30 years. The bottom wood pieces rotted out. One was replaced, and one needs replacing (see pics). The "rolls" are flat on the left side of the head, as it was stored on its side. There are some tears and residues. Some handles are missing plastic pieces, but the handles are all still functional. The knob covers have fallen off, and need to be glued back on. I have most (maybe all) of the covers in a bag. All pots could use a spray of contact cleaner. Power/Polarity lights don't work. One of the speaker inputs feels a little loose, but still works fine for now - same input is also missing name plate. One cabinet-back is held on by only a few screws, because I was servicing it - remaining screws are in bag. This set will clean up pretty well, but will take some time. I wiped off the lower section of the right speaker cover with a damp paper towel, and as you can see, it looks noticeably better. Same with the side of one of the cabinets (see shocking before/after pics 5 and 6, ha ha). There are some rips/holes in the speaker cover, so this thing will not look perfect without some serious work. But people are selling the head alone for $400-$500, so it might very well be worth doing a full restoration. Unfortunately I just don't have the time. Each cabinet is approximately 54" tall, so factor that in to your transportation plans. Sorry, I can't ship this behemoth. Comes with 1980s Realistic microphone missing top screen. Street value = $1!
