Short Run Finishing Shift Leader 5900 Grassy Creek BlvdWinston-Salem, North Carolina, 27105United States This position is located within Merchandising Displays Winston Salem, NCThe pay range for this position is $20 - $28 The Short Run Finishing Shift Leader position is responsible for providing support to all the machine centers and assembly lines that are a part of the short run operation, paying particular attention to finishing equipment and applications.
In this position this person will help to monitor machine efficiencies and quality standards and provide support to the supervisors in short run as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Provide operational expertise and work as a primary operator of the Zund cutters, laminator and heat benders when required.
Provide assistance and support with the operation of the document printer and supporting finishing equipment Cover for line leaders and digital press operators as needed.
Collate work orders for the Thompson Die-cutters, request materials/dies, enter production and close work orders.
Assist with Monthly inventory as needed.
Assist with PM's on machines as needed and generate required maintenance work orders in J.
D.
Edwards.
Assist supervisors in making sure machine centers run efficiently and safe.
Inspect the work of short run and initiate corrective measures, if needed.
Help train new employees on workplace safety and JHA's.
Request Waste Disposal/ pickup Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Overtime is required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities, but the position does provide direction to hourly short run employees and machine center operatorsOther QualificationsPosition requires a minimum of 5 years of industry related manufacturing experience.
The position also requires the ability to coordinate the work activities of self and others, and flexibility in schedule to work split shifts if needed.
The successful candidate must also be able to read a measuring tape.
Knowledge of the AS400, digital printing, corrugated / folding carton, die cutting and laminating is preferredSalary:
