Overview
Position Overview:
The Industrial and Commercial Transportation (ICT) business unit of TE Connectivity serves a broad range of customers in the commercial vehicle market including on-highway truck, all forms of off-road equipment, and recreational vehicles. Our customers count on us to deliver engineering solutions and quality products to support a myriad of applications within our industries.
The ICT Product Development Engineering group is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to be part of our small team working on the design and test of electrical and mechatronic systems.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Work closely with cross functional teams
Interact with customers to establish product requirements and establish strong relationships
Create concepts to meet customer needs as well as internal process and cost requirements
Develop and provide technical presentations to customers
Model intricate plastic and stamped metal components in PTC Creo
Perform tolerance analyses ensuring product performance and manufacturing feasibility
Develop fully-detailed component, assembly and customer drawings
Coordinate the production of prototypes
Resolve issues as needed during production launch
Complete technical documentation; including design specification, test report, BOM, work instruction, etc.
Prepare procedures and plans to test and evaluate products for design verification or product improvement.
Lead new products via Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's/Master's in Electrical Engineering and 3
years engineering experience
Proven ability to plan and document development projects, as well as track projects through a stage-gate development process
Work experience using PTC Creo or comparable 3D-CAD Systems preferred
Direct experience in a volume production environment, product design and development with electromechanical devices preferred.
Self-Motivated, hands on approach to design and problem solving
US Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident Required

Familiarity with molding, stamping and assembly processes
Experience with small precision plastic part design
