Job Description:
We are looking for a CNC Machinist who also has skills on conventional machines.
The CNC Machinist reports to Maintenance Supervisor. Sets up and operates Haas 5-axis CNC machining center and Haas CNC lathe as well as a variety of manual machine shop equipment to produce precision metal parts. May also fabricate and modify parts to maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products. Determines product dimensions and tolerances.
Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and other measuring devices.
Selects the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
Sets up, adjusts, and operates all the machine tools and specialized variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
Programs computers and electronic instruments such as numerically controlled machine tools.
Sets controls to regulate machining, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Checks work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.
Supports metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties and mathematics.
Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects
and ensure conformance to specifications.
May be required to provide assistance in the plant with assembly, alignment, and fabrication.
Responsibilities include housekeeping and care of machine shop equipment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Vocational school training and/or substantial relevant work experience is required. Work history will be reviewed for stability where applicable and a clean criminal record is required. Must posses the ability to read and write effectively. Must be proficient in machine shop mathematics. Must have the ability to program and operate Haas CNC lathes and mills.
Bottom Line Requirements:
1. Vocational school training and/or substantial relevant work experience is required.

3. Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills.
4. Haas CNC Lathe and Mill experience preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
