59 PM EasternGeneral Statement of Duties The Forsyth County Department of Social Services is seeking to hire a Sr.
Social Worker Quality Assurance Trainer to implement a training plan to improve the quality of staff service delivery.
In addition, this position will prioritize efforts on training needed for successful implementation of best practice models, state policy, and county procedures into daily work for the Sr.
Social Workers in Family and Children's Division and Adult Services.
Primary job duties and responsibilities include developing and delivering professional training and support to social workers, supervisors, and management.
In addition, researching policies and best practices, evaluating data to assess practice needs, and managing training data.
Duties also include writing, researching, and synthesizing complex content into relevant, applicable, and understandable sequences of information to achieve applied learning and skill development.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of Child Welfare laws, policies, and best practices, and deliver training in compliance with applicable policies, rules, and Federal/State statutes.
Develop and design interactive presentations using various technology and software options and evaluate training to identify and address areas needing improvement.

Distinguishing Features There are occasions in which alternative placements for children are required to ensure their safety.
In such situations, the Sr.
Social Worker is responsible for completing kinship assessments, assisting families to make safety resource placements, and/or filing custody paperwork with the court, removing children from the custody of the parents, and preparing for and attending subsequent court hearings.
There may be other duties assigned within child welfare as necessary.
The selected candidate must understand and utilize correctly all Federal, State, and local laws, policies, and procedures relevant to child abuse, neglect and dependency.
In addition, this person must be mobile because most of the job takes place outside of the office (such as in clients' homes, courtrooms, schools, etc.
).
This person must be able to objectively report their observations, and must be able to communicate with persons from a range of social and economic backgrounds and a variety of mental capacities.
The ideal candidate will also possess excellent assessment skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and sound judgment.

Minimum Education and Experience Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work or;Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only) or;Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year of directly related experience or;Master's degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling (Department of Social Services) or;Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years of directly related experience or;Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience (Department of Social Services).
Preferred
Qualifications:
completion of North Carolina Child Welfare Pre-Service Training.
Experience working in a (DSS) Child Protective Services or Child Welfare Department in the State of NC or Adult Protective Services.
Experience designing curriculum/ training materials.
Experience training others.
Valid driver's license required, as regular travel outside of the office is fundamental to the daily work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities This position serves the primary purpose of performing professional and analytical work evaluating programs and providing staff development services such as co-facilitating NC Child Welfare Pre-Service Training, technical assistance, and quality assurance.
They will also offer consultation in child welfare program areas and adult services to supervisors and staff.
In this position, they will complete duties under the supervision of the Quality Assurance and Training Supervisor.
This position requires thorough knowledge of child welfare practices, social work principles, techniques, and practices and their applications to complex casework, treatment, and investigation of abuse or neglect of children; of federal and state laws, policies and procedures, program rules, directives, professional ethics, and quality assurance standards.
Considerable knowledge of adult learning theory.
Knowledge of program evaluation techniques and provision of services; principles and methods of curriculum design and training design; human behavior and performance.
Working knowledge of office equipment, audiovisual equipment, computers, and applicable software applications.
Ability to write policies, practices, and procedures; to work with multidisciplinary teams; to present and speak effectively to a wide range of groups using a variety of techniques or formats; to develop training materials; to facilitate group discussions; to analyze, compile, present, and interpret data in a meaningful method to others; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency staff and community partners, and to attend work regularly.
