Commercial Lending Assistant


Summary:
A Commercial Lending Assistant is responsible for assisting in the coordination and administration of commercial operations; assists in preparing applications, obtaining underwriting approval, and preparing closing documents on Commercial and Real Estate Loans as directed by the Commercial Lending Manager.
Essential Functions:
Serves as primary customer service contact for business banking customers.
Assists in preparing applications, obtaining underwriting approval, and preparing closing documents on Commercial and Real Estate Loans.
Responsible for coordinating loan closings with attorneys.
Responsible for placing closed commercial loans on the FIS system.
Responsible for processing commercial loan payments.
Coordinates set up of Commercial deposit accounts and loans.
Provides ongoing clerical support to the department.
Participates as needed in the budgetary process.
Maintains a daily calendar of appointments, opens mail, types correspondence, daily documents or reports as required by the department manager.
Sets up and maintains credit files for the department.
Answers telephone calls, relays messages to department manager.
Prepares monthly reports for Senior Management and the Bank's Board of Directors.
May be called upon to provide administrative support to executives, as needed.
Responsible for other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned by the Commercial Lending Manager.
Completes annual compliance courses.
Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures.
Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws; including, the Bank Secrecy Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
Adheres to all levels of our Service Excellence standards.
Performs other duties as required.

Experience:
These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.
Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.
A two-year college degree with concentration in Business as well as three to five years of applicable experience is preferred for this role.
A high school diploma with the combination of education, continuing education, equivalent experience and knowledge is required.
A period of 1 year may be necessary to become proficient in most phases of the job.
Knowledge of commercial account analysis and depository operations is preferred; as well as experience with commercial loan documentation and loan software systems.
Excellent customer service that has been demonstrated and delivered on a consistent basis, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) is critical for this position.
Paralegal or Administrative Assistant experience in a law firm is highly desirable.
Customer Service experience in a banking environment is highly desirable.
Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and efficient with the ability to use independent judgment, analyze information, and formulate clear and concise recommendations.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Vision, hearing, speech, dexterity, visual concentration.
A valid driver's license is required.
Must have the ability to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers.
Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.
The environment is a professional office with standard office equipment.
